Mort Weiner retired from big business at age 55. He was encouraged to return to his “first love,” the insurance agency business, thus Morton D. Weiner & Co. was opened in 1981.
Ampac Insurance Associates, Inc., was a merger of several insurance agencies.
In 1994, Morton D. Weiner & Co. and Ampac Insurance Associates, Inc. merged to form Morton D. Weiner/Ampac, Inc.
