Finance Director (Posted 12/2014)
Responsibilities: Responsible for the company’s financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, and various special analyses. Assist with budget projections for the sales department. Oversee compliance with state licenses and premium finance contracts. Work with the agency's CPA firm to prepare year-end financial statements.
Qualifications: 5-10 years of accounting and finance experience within the insurance industry. Could be property/casualty or life/health. CPA designation preferred but not required. Prior agency exposure is very helpful. Familiar with insurance agency automation, preparing agency statements and direct bill reconciliation. Able to participate in a leadership role; make recommendations for operating efficiencies and cost effective growth strategies.
Maintains the company's general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, financial statement preparation, coordinate with outside CPA firm.
Insurance and Applied TAM Systems Software experience preferred.
Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills are necessary
Public accounting is a plus but not required.
Human Resources/Office Management:
Oversee other functions including, but not limited to payroll processing, 401k administration, employee affairs, health/dental/life administration
